A Social Media Marketing Strategy is paramount for online entrepreneurs, and can transform any business into a lucrative, thriving endeavor.  Today, I'm highlighting a few mistakes (with solutions) that I see being done that leads to those dreaded words..


Mistake #1: You’re not clear on who your ideal audience is. Yes, this is a BIG one. I’m sure you’ve heard this over and over, but how about .. ONE MORE TIME. Unless you get clear on who your clients are, you’re going to waste a lot of time chasing people who are not meant to be part of your community.

SIMPLE SOLUTION:  Get clear on who your ideal client is by honing in on their struggles, their joys and their needs.  DIG DEEPER. Your business will begin to have direction. This is because you know who exactly you should be looking for, talking to, and speaking to in your posts.

Mistake #2: You’re not sure if what you’re offering is what your audience really want. Uh oh! Imagine spending days, weeks or worse, months, creating an offer that your audience doesn’t need. Yikes!!

SIMPLE SOLUTION. Engaged with YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE and asked them about their problems. So many entrepreneurs keep their eyes on the number of followers without getting to know them. You don't have to post a survey in group, all you have to do is "listen".

Mistake #3: You don’t post consistently. What?  Well how is anyone going establish a relationship with you enough that they will eventually like and trust you?

SIMPLE SOLUTION: Visibility is key, my friends. It not only helps your target audience to reach out to you quickly, but it also gives you the chance to let people get a feel of who you are and what it would be like to work with you.

Just in case you run out of ideas of what to post, here is a list of things you can do to start getting visible in facebook groups:

  • Share posts of value with your target audience

  • Share fun things about your business
  • Motivate your audience
  • Engage in conversations and comment on posts.
  • Share posts that offer answers to their questions.

Mistake #4: You don’t have a strategy. Without a strategy, you’ll find yourself working so hard and getting very few results. Yes, without a strategy no matter how clear you are about who your ideal client is, no matter how sure you are that your offer is what your audience is looking for, AND no matter how often you show up on social media, you’re not going to get optimal results.
